Obedience to Blessings

Is it not like our human nature to make a quick decision in the midst of a chaotic situation, even though we may not know the outcome. Well, Isaac was in a similar situation within the Bible of Genesis chapter 26. The previous land he resided in was experiencing a famine. With extreme measures he went to another town near by and spoke with the King. What seems to be an assumption, he must have thought about going to Egypt because God spoke to him with clear instructions. God was very clear for him not to go to Egypt and to dwell in the city where the king was at. God also told Isaac that He would bless him and then Isaac became very prosperous in the land. All it took was one act of obedience.

One simple decision to follow God's command blessed Isaac and his lineage. I could only imagine what could have happened if Isaac chose to go to Egypt instead of being obedient to God. But as we grow closer to God within our walk with Christ, we realize how important it is to just follow the simple instructions that God gives. For yes, scripture does state, "Obedience is better than sacrifice." However, we neglect to highlight how obedience leads to blessings and protections. For one simple gesture to follow God and obey His command/instructions can lead to an over flow of abundance. The important part of this equation is trust in His plan!

So, in this holiday season, as you begin to start your planning process for the next day, next week, and new year, bring everything to God and obey Him. You never know what one simple act of obedience will lead you to. Just like Isaac, He cares for you in every season of your life. He cares about the big things and the small things that pertain to you. I must say, Genesis 26 has revealed to me how much God desires to bless us when we just obey Him and not neglect the plans He has for us. God will always provide and have your back!! "Do not be afraid."

With love!
